Romanza de Mendelssohn

Quieto está el puerto. Sobre la miel azul del mar las barcas cabecean soñolientas. A lo lejos se ven las torres de la ciudad y las pendientes rocosas del monte... Es la hora crepuscular y empiezan a encenderse las luces de los barcos y de las casas... Se ve el caserío invertido en las aguas en medio de los ziszás dorados y temblorosos de los reflejos. Hay un agradable y suave color de luna sobre las aguas... Se queda el muelle desierto y silencioso..., sólo pasan dos hombrotes vestidos de azul que hablan acaloradamente... De un piano lejano llegó la romanza sin palabras... Romanza maravillosa llena del espíritu romántico del 1830... Empezó lentamente con aire rubato delicioso y entró después con un canto rebosante de apasionamientos. A veces la melodía se callaba mientras los graves daban unos acordes suaves y solemnes... Llegaba sobre el puerto la música envolviéndolo todo en una fascinación de sonido sentimental. Las olas encajonadas caían lamiendo voluptuosamente las gradas del embarcadero... Seguía el piano la romanza cuando se hizo de noche. Sobre las aguas verdes y plomizas pasó una barca blanca como un fantasma al compás lento de los remos. ▲
